๐Ÿงพ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Gauteng Government Library Services Learnership, applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
  • Possess a Certificate in ICT or a relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous but not mandatory)
  • Demonstrate skills in planning, organization, problem-solving, conflict management, computer literacy, verbal and written communication, and data collection
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
  • Be unemployed and not currently engaged in any formal employment
  • Applications from individuals with disabilities and previously disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged

Key Responsibilities

As a participant in the learnership, your duties will include:

  • Assisting library users with research, job applications, and school projects
  • Offering guidance in the use of Microsoft Office tools and online platforms
  • Helping manage library technology areas such as the gaming room
  • Tracking and recording library e-resource usage and managing user registrations
  • Providing general customer support in a library setting
